
About Me
Mica Raas grew up in the Santa Cruz Mountains and attended Sonoma State University where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Geology and a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies, additionally studying winemaking through UC Davis. Working for various wineries and growers throughout Napa Valley, Sonoma, and the Central Coast, Mica developed his passion for growing grapes and winemaking. In 2009 he founded Myka Cellars.
Inspired by the promise of the wine growing regions of the Sierra Foothills, Raas moved the winery to El Dorado County in 2016. Here Raas quickly became the highest awarded winemaker in the county. While overseeing production for Myka Estates, 1850 Wine Cellars, and Fringe Wines he produced four consecutive vintages of Wine Enthusiast Best Buy wines, earned over 150 medals and over 100 wines with 90+ points. 2024 marks Raas’ 21st year in winemaking and vineyard management.

Raas has been consulting for independent wineries and vineyards since 2009, providing winemaking and vineyard services throughout Northern California In this time, he has become an expert at high elevation vineyard management and development. Raas provides refined and polished expert winemaking services for clients of all experience levels and winery aspirations.
